CHAMBERS GALLERY | 2020 | Grass Valley, CA | Remodel/ Change of Use

When the Chambers Project needed to expand from their former space in Nevada City, they found their new home in what had previously been a large thrift store at the edge of downtown Grass Valley.  Splitting the building into two new, and separate programs: an art gallery and a bronze casting forge, tested the depths of our building code knowledge.  Throughout the permitting process we were able to coordinate, negotiate, and outsmart the building officials to get the project to where it needed to be, and within their tight budget.  The dropped ceilings were removed and the floor structure and utilities were painted black to give the space a larger, more expansive experience.
